What is the NRS eInvoicing (MBS) system?

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) eInvoicing system is also known as the Merchant Buyer Solution (MBS). It is a digital platform that enables businesses in Nigeria to generate and transmit invoices electronically. It ensures transparency, traceability, real time verification, and full compliance with national tax and invoicing requirements.

Why do businesses need to adopt NRS eInvoicing?

The NRS eInvoicing initiative improves compliance, reduces fraud, enhances transparency, supports real time data exchange, and ensures accurate tax reporting. It also reduces administrative work and promotes a unified, standardised invoicing format across industries.

How does Interswitch support my business with NRS eInvoicing?

Interswitch is an accredited System Integrator (SI) and Access Point Provider (APP) for the NRS eInvoicing framework. We integrate your ERP or accounting system, ensure end to end compliance, validate invoices, securely transmit them to NRS, and provide continuous technical support.

What are the benefits of integrating with Interswitch?

Interswitch provides: • Smooth integration with your existing ERP or financial systems • Secure invoice transmission using global standards (ISO 27001, GDPR/NDPR, TLS) • Real time validation and error handling

Can I upload invoices manually without system integration?

Yes. Interswitch offers a user-friendly manual upload portal where you can: • Create and submit NRS compliant invoices • Bulk upload hundreds or thousands of invoices using Excel templates • Automatically validate records and detect errors • Download approved invoice PDFs containing IRN and QR codes

How do I get started with Interswitch NRS eInvoicing?

Log in to the NRS e Invoicing portal with your TaxPro Max credentials, enable eInvoicing, and select Interswitch as your System Integrator and Access Point Provider. Then send a mail to einvoicing@Interswitch.com.ng. Interswitch will then help certify and integrate your systems so you can begin generating and transmitting compliant invoices.
